The ISEE Event

The International Symposium on Electronics and the Environment (ISEE) has been held annually since 1993, the first regular event on the topic. It has become the major international event on environment and recycling related to electronics. It provides an opportunity for the electronics industry and the electronics recycling industry to share technical and scientific knowledge, as well as the latest operational and management strategies, business practices, and regulatory concerns. The event brings together engineers, managers, electronics recyclers, and others engaged in research, development, manufacturing, and recycling of electronic products.

The scope of ISEE has broadened over the years. One direction has been to more broadly consider the environmental implications of Information and Communication Technologies more. ISEE has also dealt with the development of systems-based assessment and management tools such as materials flow analysis and life cycle assessment and applications to electronic products and ICT services. The environmental impacts of emerging technologies such as nanotechnology and convergence of multiple emerging technologies is also considered.
